Cheyenne Bottoms & Quivira National Wildlife Refuge

Birders and wildlife photographers will love this duo of North American shorebird migratory stops. Experience both Cheyenne Bottoms and the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge in one drive by taking the 76-mile Wetlands and Wildlife National Scenic Byway. The Kansas Wetlands Education Center, located southeast of Cheyenne Bottoms, is a great place to learn more about plants and wildlife in the area. Cities nearby include Great Bend, Lyons, Stafford, and Hutchinson.
